Bob Crossley (1912-2010) screenprint, signed in pencil, l.l, dated '80 and numbered 48/100.

Crossley had a deep interest in form and colour tensions and his pictures have great verve and energy. After military service during WW2 he was accepted into the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and subsequently exhibited with The London Group and The Paris Salon.

He was drawn to the St. Ives artist community and moved to Cornwall in 1959, joining the Penwith Society of Arts and showing with Newlyn Society of Artists, AIA, Piccadilly and Redfern Galleries. He later had retrospectives at the Penwith Galleries in 1992, a post-retrospective there in 1999, and a retrospective at Rochdale Art Gallery in 2004.

This lithograph was exhibited at ‘Prints from Cornwall’ cat.49. John Graham Fine Arts, Harlow in June 1983.
